Somehow the holidays are upon us, and a new calendar year is just 12 days away!
I don’t know about you, but the news has felt heavy this week. I considered not writing something due to all the pain that people are likely processing.
I hope each of us and the world can find some measure of peace in the coming weeks. Give yourselves time to pause and breath and be thankful for what we do have and the people that surround us.
I rarely take time to pause and reflect on my accomplishments and maybe that’s also why I don’t love making new year’s resolutions. I’ve decided this year to reflect on the growth I’ve made personally and the healthy boundaries I’ve put in place professionally. If I had saved my writing to be a new year’s resolution I probably wouldn’t have ever started because I likely would have chickened out (no offense to the chickens). Thus, I don’t love making new year’s resolutions because there is undue pressure to make one, then stick with it, and time it appropriately. I prefer to consider making a change at whatever time I deem necessary, calendar be damned. I also find that I tend to stick with a change when I form it into a habit (thank you, James Clear).
So, whether you make a resolution or you don’t remember to give yourself grace and try to find some peace and if you are feeling like you could use a friend- reach out! There is no better time than now to ask for support and know that you are not alone.
